Narrative:
United Airlines Flight UA1093, a Boeing 737-8 MAX, was en route from Denver to Los Angeles when at FL360 to the southeast of Salt Lake City, Utah, the crew heard a loud bang. Subsequently, a shattering crack was observed in the right-side windshield, originating from its upper inner corner. Fragments and glass dust entered the flight deck, resulting in multiple lacerations to the captain's right arm.

The aircraft diverted to Salt Lake City (SLC), where it landed approximately 50 minutes later.

Post-landing inspection revealed:
· The inner ply of the windshield's laminated structure was severely shattered.
· The flight deck panel and console surfaces were contaminated with fine glass particles.
· Visible impact damage was present on the external surface of the aircraft nose.

United Airlines subsequently issued a statement: "Flight UA1093 diverted to Salt Lake City due to a crack in the outer windshield pane. The aircraft landed safely without major injuries reported among passengers or crew. A replacement aircraft was dispatched to complete the journey to Los Angeles, resulting in an approximate 6-hour delay."
